Stuff We Like: October

Halloween: From tricks to treats, costumes to candy, there’s little this fashion blog doesn’t love about a holiday dedicated to dressing up.

Adult-size onesies: An adorable, warm, one stop shop for a Halloween costume that also happens to have a nostalgia bonus for making us feel like kids again? Yes. Please.

Halloween candy: Listen, we all know that the only thing better than Halloween candy is the day after Halloween candy sales. So, if we see you please just put down the Reese’s, Kit Kats, and Crunch bars and back away slowly. No one will get hurt.

Kiehls Midnight Recovery Serum: Think of this as a Mr. Clean magic eraser for your face, here to wipe away all of the sugary mistakes you’ve made in the last 48 hours.

Big comfy sweaters: Colder mornings call for cozy sweaters to ward off the chill (and make it just a teensy bit easier to haul our butts out of our warm beds)

Book Lovers’ Soy Candles from Frostbeard Studio: These clever handmade candles make our inner bibliophiles happy and our Saturday afternoon reading marathons even more epic.

Booties: We like ’em flat, we like ’em heeled, all closed up and peep toe too! Truthfully, we’ve yet to run into an incarnation of this hip, casual cousin of the boot that we didn’t fall head over heels for.

Dark, vampy lip shades: Pale pinks and neutral nudes are great and all, but fall’s vampy shades let us channel our inner Morticia (and that is never a bad thing).

Gourds, autumnal colors, and everything that’s fall AF: When it comes to being pretty, fall is drop dead gourdous (get it? We’ll stop…). It’s like the trees watched a youtube video on how to be a sunset and are now testing it out with spectacular results.

Pink swing tee – Motherhood Maternity (not pictured)

Pink and white striped henley – Motherhood Maternity

TOTAL: $91

Guys. My mom is the best. I stayed under budget this month for one reason, and one reason only – she took me shopping for new maternity clothes. I ended up buying a few things as well (see above), but between the two of us and just ONE shopping trip, I now have 95% of the clothing I am going to need until this kid is born. And the best part? I LOVE ALL OF IT. I seriously think I like my maternity wardrobe better than my normal wardrobe at this point. I feel cute, confident, profession (when I need to be), and COMFORTABLE in literally everything.

So basically: THANK YOU MOM! You’re the best!

Things still left to acquire: a winter coat (because eventually the XXL fleece I’ve been rocking will stop cutting it), and something ultra-pretty to wear to winter events.
