It is a truth universally acknowledged that a colorful skirt in possession of a glorious abstract pattern, must be in want of a necklace… #ItsBeenAHotMinuteSinceIMadeAnAustenReference
If my closet were a Jane Austen novel (just go with me on this one), it would probably be Pride and Prejudice. It’s chock full of looks that are both vibrant and sassy, and dark and broody (remember that time I wore happy, springtime shorts and still managed to look like Wednesday Addams?!). It’s also becoming a place where fancier statement pieces meet more affordable staples and fall in love. Take this outfit for example: this Kate Spade skirt is strong and proud but it doesn’t necessarily play well with others, and this Target necklace is too feisty to play nice in the sandbox with just anybody. Separately, they’re both stubborn and hard to match. But together? They’re practically a match made in retail heaven.
