You would think, as a girl who is borderline obsessed with all things fashion, that my shoe closet would filled to the brim with heels and loafer and boots (oh my!). Well I hate to burst your bubble, but that really could not be further from the truth.
I mentioned last week how long it took me to hop on the OTK boot trend, and the truth is, that’s pretty much how I am with all shoe. In fact, up until about a year ago, I really just had the basics (heels/boots/flats in black and brown and maybe one fun pair I never quite knew how to wear), and would only buy new shoes if those wore out.
Looking back, I think it was because I figured all the personality and fun should be in my outfit and the shoes were basically just there to finish off the look (and to make sure I got service). But now that I am branching out a bit, I am finding that adding just a little pop of color or style with the right pair of shoes can take something like a pair of jeans and a comfy shirt from “blah” to “heck yeah!”. So while apparently I wasn’t born with the “love for shoes” gene, I like to consider myself a fast learner and will just have to do my best to make up for lost time!
