Black, White, and Neon

When it comes to necklaces, I am very much a “go big, or go home” kinda gal. Whenever I go shopping, I’m like an absurd statement necklace heat seeking missile that automatically zeroes in on the largest, most over the top piece in the store. A smart person would ask themselves what in their wardrobe they would pair such items, but me? I throw caution to the wind and assume I’ll figure it out later. This means I have an ever-growing collection of STATEMENT (caps lock it, underline it, bold it) necklaces and a very small number of sensible, versatile pieces (you know, like sane, logical people buy). So of course, the moment I walked into one of my new fave local boutiques, I immediately honed in on this glorious piece of majesty. This is just about the only way someone like me (you know, the kind of person who is so pale they practically glow in the dark) can ever hope to get a piece of the neon action. Now, styling a loud necklace is always a challenge, but I find that black is generally a good starting point for any outfit (which may or may not have something to do with the fact that at least 80% of my closet is, in fact, black)

…but ain’t nothin’ basic about my black and white game. Go big or go home, remember? Also can we all just agree:

(because, as this TBT post can confirm, my hair is generally an unwieldy jerk face)
