Back in July I was killing time, flipping through new blog posts in Feedly (a great blog reader, if you’re in the market for one) when I stumbled upon Karen from Makeup and Beauty‘s review of this fan-freaking-tastic new lipstick from Paul & Joe. It was, as you can imagine, instant love. A novelty lipstick in a pretty tube with interchangeable cases in colors that actually looked good??
Unfortunately, they weren’t being released until August. So I bookmarked it and waited patiently until August… and by that I mean I kinda sorta forgot about it until about 2 weeks ago (that would have been tragic). But I did remember! And then came the agonizing decision – which color to get? (I’m not so flush that I could shell out for all three) I settled on Cafe Espresso because it looked like a nice pinky-nude shade that my makeup bag was sorely lacking.
And now it’s here.
And it is magical.
I LOVE the cat face on the side of the lipstick twist up. I really enjoy it when companies go the extra mile to make their product special (as if putting a detailed cat’s face in the center of their lipstick wasn’t special enough…).
So the big question… am I actually going to use it?
YES! And here’s what it looks like:
It is exactly the pinky-nude lip-smoothing color I hoped it would be. The formula is smooth and creamy, and the brown cat face center doesn’t make it streaky or anything like that. It’s just… nice. The wear time isn’t long, but I wasn’t really expecting much from such a novelty product. And the REALLY good news is that even after you use it, the cat face is still crisp and clear in the center of the lipstick.
If you’re interested in acquiring your very own catstick, I would encourage you to act fact – they’re selling out all over the place. I ordered mine from b-glowing (their customer service is awesome, btw), and it looks like they still have all three colors in stock. If I got another one, I think I’d go for the Coffee Cherry – such a fun, bright shade!
Which catstick would you pick?
